Claire Danes Says She Used Her Own 'Anxiety' for New Movie Role

Claire Danes makes her way into the studio at Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday (May 31) in Hollywood, Calif.

The 39-year-old Homeland actress dressed her tiny baby bump in a black and plaid sundress as she arrived for her interview.

While promoting her new movie A Kid Like Jake, Claire opened up about how she tapped into her own “anxiety” as a mom to 5-year-old son Cyrus.

“That’s not the case with my son exactly, but I certainly, certainly understand what it is to have anxiety about him being safe in the world and being identified as other in some way and it’s a completely natural impulse,” Claire told People. “I think that’s really at the root of this story.”

A Kid Like Jake hits theaters on Friday, June 1.
