Tinashe Parts Ways with RCA Record Label

Tinashe and her record label RCA are going their separate ways.

The 26-year-old singer’s manager Mike Nazzaro addressed rumors that she had been dropped by the record label.

“She wasn’t dropped,” Mike said. “We initiated for her to be released. It was a positive split for her. It’s giving her back creative control,” he added before saying it’s been final for “a month or so.”

Tinashe revealed back in 2012 on YouTube that she had been signed to RCA before releasing her debut album Aquarius in 2014.

“Her relationship with RCA was a long-term relationship, but they needed space,” Mike added. “It was time to part ways.”

“She’s excited for this next step in her career,” Mike continues. “We’re trying to decide now, if we want new partners, who the next ones will be.”
