Brie Larson Joins 'Captain Marvel' Cast for L.A. Press Junket
Brie Larson and Jude Law share a laugh while appearing on stage during the Captain Marvel press conference at the film’s junket on Friday (February 22) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Also stepping out were co-stars Lashana Lynch, Samuel L. Jackson, Gemma Chan, and Clark Gregg, as well as Marvel’s Kevin Feige and directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
During the press conference, Brie explained why she was initially hesitant to accept the role.
“I was a little worried about playing a superhero that would be perfect,” she said (via the L.A. Times). “Because I don’t feel like that’s realistic or something aspirational at all.”
Ultimately, Brie loved that Carol is a “risk-taker.”
“Those are the defining moments of her character,” she said. “Where she doesn’t lay down. She gets back up. That’s everything. There isn’t a person that can’t relate to that, I think.”
FYI: Brie is wearing a Dorothee Schumacher suit. Gemma is wearing a Christopher Kane dress.
