Tyler Skaggs Dead - L.A. Angels Pitcher Dies at 27
Tyler Skaggs, a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels, has tragically died at the age of 27.
The Angels announced that the young baseball player died on Monday (July 1) in Texas.
“It is with great sorrow that we report Tyler Skaggs passed away earlier today in Texas,” the team announced in a statement. “Tyler has, and always will be, an important part of the Angels Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Carli and his entire family during this devastating time.”
Tyler just pitched in the Angels’ home game against the Oakland Athletics on Saturday night (June 29). He was in Texas to play against the Texas Rangers. The game has been postponed.
After being drafted by the Angels in the 2009 MLB Draft, Tyler played in minor league baseball until his MLB debut in 2012 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was traded back to the Angels and had been playing with them since 2014.
