'Fortnite' Star Ninja Leaves Amazon's Twitch for Microsoft's Mixer

Tyler Blevins, known by his online alias Ninja, is parting ways with Amazon’s Twitch to stream exclusively on Microsoft’s Mixer.

The 28-year-old YouTuber and professional gamer – boasting over 14 million followers and more than 50,000 viewers per week – was the most followed streamer on Twitch.

“I know this may come as a shock to many of you, but as of today I will be streaming exclusively on Mixer,” Ninja said in a YouTube video on Friday (August 2). “I feel like this is a really good chance to get back in touch with my roots and really remember why I fell in love with streaming in the first place.”

“It’s the same me, just a different platform,” he added.

Ninja has won millions playing the popular online video game Fortnite. Follow his stream on Mixer here.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities Twitch has provided me,” Ninja told The Associated Press. “But as I looked at the next step in my career, I wanted to be somewhere that empowered me to push the boundaries of gaming and achieve bigger goals within the industry. Mixer provides me with more ways to connect with my community.”

“I want my friends to make their own decisions for what platforms they choose to play on,” he shared. “With that being said, I will welcome anyone with open arms who wants to join me.”
