Gerard Butler's 'Angel Has Fallen' Will Debut at Number One!

The new movie Angel Has Fallen, starring Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman, is on track for a number one debut at the box office this weekend!

The film is surpassing expectations to earn $20 million for its first weekend, a great hold for the third movie in the franchise. London Has Fallen opened with $21.6 million back in 2016 while Olympus Has Fallen launched the series in 2013 with $30.4 million.

The new action flick earned a very positive A- CinemaScore from audiences, so it should hold well at the box office for the rest of its run.

THR reports that the top five will be rounded out by Good Boys ($11.1 million), new movie Overcomer ($8 million), and box office hits The Lion King and Hobbs & Shaw.
