New 'Saturday Night Live' Cast Member Shane Gillis Under Fire for Racial Slur in Resurfaced Podcast

Shane Gillis has found himself in some hot water after a podcast of him using a racial slur has resurfaced.

Shane – who is one of three new Saturday Night Live cast members – had a podcast called “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast” and in one video used a racially insensitive slur.

“Chinatown’s f–king nuts,” Shane says. “Let the f–king ch—s live there.”

The video and podcast have now both been deleted. However, freelance writer Seth Simons was able to capture the video before it was deleted and shared it on Twitter, which also features Shane making a comment about Chinese restaurants.

“The translation between you and the waiter is just such a f–king hassle,” Shane says in the video, which you can see here.

Shane was recently announced as one of the new cast members for the upcoming season of SNL along with Chloe Fineman and Bowen Yang. Bowen is the first ever full-time Asian cast member on the sketch show.

Saturday Night Live
has not addressed the resurfaced video yet.
