Taylor Swift Talks About the Importance of 'Ownership Over What You Make' Amid Scooter Braun Feud

Taylor Swift is subtly addressing her feud with Scooter Braun in the January issue of British Vogue.

During her interview with Cats composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, the 29-year-old entertainer and the composer talked about creating the song “Beautiful Ghosts” for the upcoming movie adaption of the film – and Taylor emphasized the importance of owning what you make.

“I think [writing] is really important – also from the side of ownership over what you do and make,” Taylor shared. “Even if you aren’t a natural writer, you should try to involve yourself in the messages you’re sending.”

Taylor‘s emphasis on ownership comes several months after Scooter and Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta acquired her song masters in a deal earlier this year, much to Taylor‘s dismay and seemingly without her knowledge.

Fast-forward to last month, Taylor alleged that Scooter and Scott were blocking her from performing her old songs during her 2019 American Music Awards performance.

After some back and forth, Taylor was able to perform a medley of her iconic hits.
