'Dead to Me' Season 2 Kicks Off With a Big Twist (Spoilers)

SPOILER ALERT – This post contains spoilers from Dead to Me season two, so beware of reading any further if you don’t want to know what happened!

The second season of Dead to Me just premiered and the show kicked off with a big twist at the end of the first episode.

If you’ve seen the first season, then you likely remember that it ended with James Marsden‘s character Steve being shot dead and his body lying in the pool. Right before the credits started to roll, we saw Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini‘s characters Jen and Judy wondering what to do with his body.

So, what happened in season two?

Click inside for the spoilers on that big twist…

In the first episode of the new season, we saw that the story Jen told Judy about Steve’s death wasn’t exactly true. Jen originally told Judy that she shot him out of self-defense. In security camera footage, we see that she pulled a gun on him, but then lowered it. When he insulted her by saying that her dead husband must have been “miserable” with her, she took a wooden bird figurine out of her bathrobe and bludgeoned him in the head.

Also, Jen’s nosy neighbor Karen visited her at the house and decided to take the pool cover off… and there was no body or blood in the pool! So, did Steve actually die?

At the end of the season premiere, we got a big surprise when James Marsden reappeared at Jen’s front door… but he’s not playing Steve!

When episode two begins, we find out that Steve’s “semi-identical” twin brother Ben is looking for him and he wants to know if Judy has any idea where he might be. (And if you’re wondering if Steve is actually dead… yes, he is. His body is now in a freezer in the garage)
