French Actor Michel Piccoli Dies at Age 94 From A Stroke

Michel Piccoli has sadly passed away at the age of 94.

AFP reports that the French actor, known for his roles in films like Le Mépris and Belle De Jour, died last week, while surrounded by his family, from a stroke.

Michel won many acting awards for his long career, including the best actor prize in Cannes in 1980 for Marco Bellochio’s A Leap In The Dark and a just a few years later, won the Silver Bear in Berlin for Pierre Granier-Deferre’s Strange Affair.

He’d also received four Cesar nominations.

Michel‘s last role was in Nanni Moretti’s Habemus Papam, and earned him a David di Donatello award for best actor in Italy.

RIP Michel.
