Donald Trump Claims Democrats are Trying to 'Steal the Election,' Twitter Flags the Tweet as 'Misleading'

Donald Trump has taken to Twitter on Election Night.

Moments after Joe Biden took to the stage to speak with voters in Wilmington, the President took to Twitter to claim that Democrats are trying to “steal the election.”

“We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!” Trump tweeted.

Shortly after he posted, Twitter flagged Trump‘s tweet, calling his claims “misleading.”

“Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process,” read Twitter’s flag warning added to Trump‘s tweet.

CNN reporter and Trump fact-checker Daniel Dale commented on the President’s tweet, explaining that what’s going on right now in the election process is “normal.”

“Nobody is trying to steal the election. Votes are simply being counted. Some states, including deep-red Republican states, count ballots postmarked by Election Day even if they arrive afterward. This is entirely normal,” Daniel tweeted.
