Snapchat Launches Spotlight & Will Pay Creators A Million Dollars For Videos

You can now earn up to $1 million dollars on Snapchat!

The app company just launched a new initiative for creators calls Snapchat Spotlight and will pay them for the most-viewed daily video posts.

According to a new blog post by the company, Snapchat Spotlight will show users a stream of publicly submitted posts surfaced based on personalized content algorithms.

Then, those creators who contribute are eligible to receive some money through that, and it could be even more than $1 million daily. Those who are eligible must be over 16 years of age.

“Spotlight shines a light on the most entertaining Snaps created by the Snapchat community, no matter who created them,” the company said on their announcement site. “We built Spotlight to be a place where anyone’s content can take center stage — without needing a public account or an influencer following.”

At the moment, the $1 million daily payout will run at least until the end of the year, and maybe beyond that. Earnings are determined by a proprietary formula primarily based on the total number of unique video views a Snap gets in a given day (calculated using Pacific Time) as compared with the performance of other user posts in Spotlight that day.
