Trump's Extension of Secret Service Protection for His Adult Children Is Costing Thousands of Dollars - Find Out How Much!

Former President Donald Trump elected to have Secret Service protection in place for his four adult kids, and it’s costing big time.

The decision to extended Secret Service protection to Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Tiffany Trump and their families has come at great expense, according to the nonprofit Citizens For Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), via People on Friday (May 7).

It’s also not a common decision made by former Presidents, who are typically solely protected alongside first ladies. It’s not unusual for their underage children to temporarily be granted security, however.

The CREW report shows the Secret Service has spent at least $140,000 in President Trump‘s first month out of office to protect him and members of his family.

“That figure, however, does not include charges at Trump properties in Bedminster, Palm Beach and Briarcliff, New York, which would likely bring the actual total much higher,” the report adds.

The six-month added extension of protection was ordered just before Trump left office in January.

CREW also reported that the full six-month bill is “likely to be quite costly,” estimating it could come in at about $1 million.

President Joe Biden would need to approve a further extension after that, according to the Secret Service.
