Jon Bon Jovi, baseball player Larry Doby, James Gandolfini, Connie Chung, Whitney Houston, Toni Morrison, Judy Blume, Celia Cruz and Frank Sinatra were selected to grace the names of select rest stops along the turnpike.

According to a release, via Billboard, the service areas will contain Hard Rock Cafe-style exhibits and artifacts, and an interactive Wall of Fame featuring a life-sized video monitor showcasing Hall of Fame inductees and their acceptance speeches.

Many fans were wondering why Bruce wasn’t included, and it’s been revealed that he declined.

“Bruce Springsteen respectfully declined to have a service area named after him,” Natasha Alagarasan, a spokeswoman for the New Jersey Hall of Fame, told northjersey.com.

She added, “It should be noted, though, that Bruce has been very supportive of the New Jersey Hall of Fame over the years, and is very much a part of the fabric of the Hall.”

Bruce has other things on his schedule this year, including his daughter competing in the Olympics and his upcoming in-person shows.
