Vanessa Bryant Settles Lawsuit with Her Mother Sofia Laine

Vanessa Bryant‘s legal battle with her mother appears to be over.

Vanessa, 39, settled a lawsuit that was made against her by her mother, Sofia Laine, E! News reports.

Details about the terms of the resolution are not being shared with the public, but the court records stat that “this entire case has been settled.”

Back in December 2020, Sofia filed a lawsuit against Vanessa, claiming that she a was long-time personal assistant and nanny for Vanessa and the late Kobe Bryant and that she was “never paid for her services despite promises.”

Vanessa then took to social media to slam her mother, saying that Sofia was trying to “extort a financial windfall” from her family.”

“She has no regard for how this is affecting my children and me. She wants to live off of my daughters and me for the rest of her life while continuing to collect monthly alimony from her ex-husband since 2004,” Vanessa said at the time. “My husband and I have never discourage or kept her from providing for herself. This lawsuit is frivolous, disgraceful, and unimaginably hurtful. My husband never promised my mother anything, and he would be so disappointed in her behavior and lack of empathy.”
