Kristin Chenoweth Performed This Entire 'Schmigadoon' Musical Number in Just One Take - Watch Now!

The season finale of the Apple TV+ series Schmigadoon is premiering tomorrow and we’re taking a look back at Kristin Chenoweth‘s incredible musical number from last week’s episode.

The Tony and Emmy-winning actress performed her song “Tribulation” in just one take and it’s a marvel to watch.

In the series, Kristin plays Mildred Layton, the mayor’s wife, and she tries to get the town to turn against newcomers Josh (Keegan-Michael Key) and Melissa (Cecily Strong). By the end of the song, she becomes a candidate for mayor!

Kristin told HollywoodLife, “[Director Barry Sonnenfeld] called and said, ‘You’re going to do this song ‘Tribulation.’ It is an 18 pager, patter and Opera, and he said, ‘You’re going do it in one take. That’s how he got me. I love the opportunity to challenge myself.”

“Alan Cumming lived next to me during filming and in the middle of the night — I did not sleep — all I did was ‘Tribulation’ and 90 Day Fiancé,” she added. “I would wake up and I would just see how far I could go. And each day, I just got better and better. I did it on the treadmill. The only thing I asked them for was if I could get a treadmill in the 14 day quarantine. And I would get on the treadmill and I would practice ‘Tribulation.’”
