According to the report, the main cast – Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Jon Huertas — wanted pay raises this past summer ahead of the sixth and final season.

The request was initially “met with resistance by 20th Television and NBC” according to sources, as several of the cast members previously negotiated raises after Season 2 when the actors, who started at different compensation levels, all went up to $250,000 an episode, maintaining parity ever since.

Creator Dan Fogelman reportedly stepped in to support actors’ request for more money, and the network ultimately agreed to a $2 million cash bonus for each of the seven original cast members and a $1 million bonus for fellow series regular Jon Huertas, who was promoted to a regular in Season 2.

The original cast members joined in requesting parity for him as well, according to the report, asking the studio and network for his bonus to match theirs, but it was unsuccessful.

“Some — and possibly all — of the Original 7 offered to pool together a portion of their own bonuses and give it to Huertas so he could achieve parity with them,” the report adds, but he reportedly declined the offer.

The stars reportedly received cash bonuses, believed to be $250,000 each, at the end of Season 1 following the show’s breakout success.

This Is Us remains one of the highest rated and acclaimed drama series of the past decade.

One of the stars recently revealed they helped write an episode for the show’s last season.
