Carmen Salinas Dead - Prolific Mexican Actress & Politician Dies at 82

Carmen Salinas has sadly died.

The Mexican actress and politician passed away on Thursday (December 9) at the age of 82 due to a stroke that left her in a coma, via NBC Los Angeles.

Her family made the announcement of her death later that day.

Carmen starred in over a hundred movies and TV shows, and was in the middle of filming telenovela Mi fortuna es amarte, in the role of Doña Margarita Domínguez, when she suffered the stroke.

She made her television debut in 1964 in shows like La vecindad, La frontera (The Border) and El chofer (The Chauffeur), and also starred alongside Denzel Washington in Man on Fire.

Later in life, she entered into politics, taking seat in the Chamber of Deputies for the LXIII Legislature of the Mexican Congress and serving on the Gender Equality, Radio and Television, and Health Commissions.

Our thoughts are with Carmen Salinas‘ loved ones at this difficult time.

We have sadly lost all of these stars in 2021.
