Mike Pence Speaks Out About Overturning Election: 'Trump Is Wrong'

Mike Pence is speaking out against Donald Trump.

The former Vice President spoke to conservatives on Friday (February 4) near Orlando, Fla., via the New York Times.

During the speech, Pence said that Trump is “wrong” that the former Vice President had the legal authority to change the results of the 2020 election, and insisted the Republican Party must accept the outcome and move on.

While he felt “the disappointment so many feel about the last election…President Trump is wrong,” he said. “I had no right to overturn the election.”

“The truth is there’s more at stake than our party or our political fortunes,” he said. “If we lose faith in the Constitution, we won’t just lose elections — we’ll lose our country.”

He also described January 6 as a “dark day,” calling the rioters who invaded the Capitol “political prisoners.”

Pence also revealed the last time he actually spoke to the former President.
