According to audience members at the Ambassadors Theatre in London, one of Taron‘s co-stars stopped the performance and a safety curtain went down, leaving the audience to sit around waiting for an update, What’s On Stage reports.

A doctor was in the audience and rushed backstage to check on Taron.

After a 40-minute break, the play’s director, Marianne Elliott, came out on stage and told the audience that Taron was “absolutely fine.”

The director then informed that audience that Taron‘s understudy, Joel Harper-Jackson, would be continue in his place for the remaining 15 minutes of the show.

The Cock production also released a statement on the situation.

“During this evening’s first preview of Mike Bartlett’s play Cock at the Ambassadors Theatre, Taron Egerton fainted towards the end of the performance,” the statement read.

“A doctor who was in the audience attended to Taron immediately after the incident, and whilst he felt fine, it was decided that Taron’s understudy, Joel Harper-Jackson would continue in the role to complete the performance,” the statement concluded.

Cock is set to continue with its next scheduled performance on Monday, March 7. The show is set to run through June 4.
