'Love Is Blind' Creator Responds To Shake Chatterjee's Editing Critiques That Made Him Look Like A Bad Guy

Chris Coelen is opening up about the criticisms Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee has about how he was presented to audiences in Love is Blind.

During the Season 2 reunion, Shake admitted that he was the villain of the season, and then promptly blamed the editing for it.

Shake said that he was nervous about how he’d be edited, because of the way he was portrayed during the nine episodes.

Now, Chris is speaking out about his actions on, and off, the screen.

Chris spoke to Variety about Shake‘s comments.

“If we were afraid of that comment, we could have taken it out. But I’m not afraid of that comment, because during this process, we want to give people the opportunity to say whatever they want to say,” he shared. “Every other member of the cast seems to think that he got a pretty good edit.”

One of the other cast members, Natalie Lee, said that the show actually showed “a very watered down version” of the harsh things he said about the looks of his ex-fiancée, Deepti Vempati.

Chris added that Shake said “at the end of the reunion that he owns his actions. He’s doubling down on it, and I think all of that speaks for itself.”

Following the reunion, dating rumors sparked between Deepti and this other cast member.
