JoJo Siwa Drops Out of Will Smith-Backed Movie 'Bounce'

JoJo Siwa has dropped out Will Smith‘s upcoming movie.

The 18-year-old entertainer was set to star in the upcoming movie Bounce, based on the book of the same name by Megan Shull.

Will‘s production company Overbrook Entertainment was set to produce the movie with Paramount Pictures.

On Wednesday (April 6), it was officially announced that JoJo, and Paramount, had both parted ways with Bounce.

Paramount dropped the movie from it’s development slate, however, Variety notes the project fell apart months ago and has nothing to do with Will‘s Oscars controversy.

While attending the 2022 GLAAD Media Awards last weekend, JoJo shared an update on Bounce, saying, “That project got put on hold, and then went away. It wasn’t the one.”

She also added, “I normally stay out of all politics, it’s not my gig. But, I will say that being kind to one another is very important. I think that can go both ways, kindness.”

It was also recently announced that another one of Will‘s upcoming movies hit a major speed bump.
