Cynthia Erivo Talks Playing Elphaba in 'Wicked': 'It Might Be the Role of a Lifetime'

Cynthia Erivo is dishing on Wicked!

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday (May 6), the 35-year-old actress spoke with guest host Tiffany Haddish about her role in the upcoming film.

“Now this is huge. You are starring in the movie Wicked,” Tiffany began. “Oh my gosh, how exciting is that.”

“Very exciting. It’s really, really exciting. It’s really cool,” Cynthia replied. “It feels like it might be the role of a lifetime.”

Tiffany then asked if they had cast the whole movie yet and Cynthia revealed that they had not.

“You know I can sing a little bit,” Tiffany quipped.

“Didn’t you see the cogs turning?” Cynthia joked back, gesturing to her head as Tiffany offered to join the film as a “flying monkey of sorts.”

“See now you’re getting me thinking, you’re getting me thinking,” Cynthia added.
