Katharine McPhee Praises Husband David Foster After Raising Over $11.2 Million for Incredible Cause

David Foster, his wife Katharine McPhee, and their friends raised so much money this weekend!

The 16-time Grammy-winning songwriter and entertainer hosted the David Foster Foundation Gala: A Night on Broadway on Saturday (May 7) at Hotel X Toronto by Library Hotel Collection in Toronto, Canada.

The David Foster Foundation is dedicated to providing financial support to Canadian families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants. In addition to helping families with their non-medical expenses, the Foundation strives to increase public awareness and education about the importance of becoming a registered organ donor in Canada and the United States.

David, Kat, and their celeb friends performed songs from the Broadway songbook to raise money for the foundation’s incredible work. Joining them were Kat‘s Smash co-star Leslie Odom Jr., her Waitress co-star Erich Bergen, The Greatest Showman‘s Loren Allred, and Broadway stars Kara Lindsay and Jessica Vosk.

Kat revealed on Instagram that the event raised $11.2 million and she praised David for all his work.

“I’m a proud wife. My husband’s foundation @davidfosterfoundation raised $11.2 million Saturday night that goes to supporting families in need of life saving organ transplants. They help families with ALL non medical expenses so they can focus solely on their sick child. And no family is turned away,” Kat said. “I’m honored to be a witness to all of your achievements David. And major props to all the team members @mravenhill (at the helm)& volunteers who work so tirelessly on behalf of the foundation. Thank you to @leslieodomjr, @lorenallred, @jessicavosk, @erichbergen, @karalindsay1, @melissapeterman, & @theofficialtonyvincent for all your talent that night.”

Jessica recently starred in the reading of David‘s upcoming Betty Boop musical and she performed the musical’s song “Something to Shout About” during her Carnegie Hall debut last year. You can see her in concert later this month at the Broadway Speakeasy.

Erich just announced that he will be performing at the Cafe Carlyle in New York City on May 20 and 21. David and Kat have five shows at the venue the following week!
