Jo Koy Speaks Out After Chelsea Handler Split: 'The Love Is Still There'

Jo Koy is speaking out after his recent breakup with Chelsea Handler.

Earlier this week, the 47-year-old Chelsea Lately host confirmed that she and the 51-year-old comedian had split after a year of dating.

“As many of you have noticed, it is with a heavy heart to announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship right now,” she wrote in part. “I know many of you were invested in our love, and I wanted to express to you how much that meant to both of us. How much it still means. And how much I now believe in love for each one of us.”

TMZ asked Jo about the breakup on Thursday (July 21) and he revealed where the pair currently stand after their split.

“Everything’s good. We’re taking a break,” he told the outlet. “We’re great friends, we’ve always been great friends. The love is still there.”

As for whether he and Chelsea are still in touch, Jo said: “Yeah… but all love. That’s all.” He refrained from revealing who broke up with whom, explaining that it was a “private matter.”

When asked if he was ready to get back in the dating game soon, he laughed and said that he was “just going to concentrate on this movie thing right now,” referring to his new film Easter Sunday, out Aug. 5.

Chelsea and Jo were first linked in September 2021. She went on to confirm the relationship later that month by posting a sweet photo of her with Jo on Instagram.
