Fans React After Diane Warren Seemingly Shades Beyoncé on Twitter - See the Tweets

Diane Warren is catching some heat from Beyoncé fans on Twitter.

On Monday (August 1), the 65-year-old songwriter seemingly called out Beyoncé‘s latest album, Renaissance, which features a song that credits over 20 writers.

“How can there be 24 writers on a song?” Diane wrote, adding an eye-roll emoji. She followed up in a separate tweet, “This isn’t meant as shade, I’m just curious. That’s 23 more than are on mine.”

“It’s quite simple,” one fan wrote. “If you sample/interpolate several songs within a new recording, all of those original songwriters receive credit along with those who contributed to the new composition.”

“As one of the greatest songwriters of all time, I think you how lol,” another user wrote, while a third commented, “This is kind of a boring narrative at this point and it’s sad to see artists’ attempt to devalue one another.”

After seeing the response her original tweet had, Diane replied to her initial tweet with: “Ok, it’s prob samples that add up the amount of writers.”

Earlier today, it was announced Beyoncé would be changing the lyrics to one of her new songs after facing backlash. Find out more here.
