Chris Rock is set to make history at Netflix.
The 57-year-old comedian will become the first star to host a live comedy special on the streaming platform, according to Variety.
While we don’t know much about the special just yet, this could prove to be a major opportunity for Netflix to livestream more content to their subscribers in the future.

Chris‘ special is expected to premiere at the start of next year and will mark his third collaboration with Netflix. He previously filmed a special called Tamborine and also joined the 2022 Netflix Is A Joke festival.
“Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation,” Robbie Praw, Netflix’s vice president of stand-up and comedy formats said. “We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch.”
Did you see that an A-list actor recently revealed why he stopped speaking to Chris? The comedian also turned down a major gig earlier this year.
