Paul Haggis Ordered to Pay $2.5 Million More in Rape Trial Verdict
Paul Haggis will be paying a bit more than just the $7.5 million as a result of his rape trial.
Just last week, the two-time Oscar-winning director of Crash was ordered to pay that amount to former events publicist Haleigh Breest, who claimed that she was raped by Paul in his Soho apartment back in 2013.
Now, the jury has also ruled that Paul will be paying $2.5 million more in punitive damages. His grand total is now $10 million.

According to THR, the jury was schooled in how movie financing works and the monies that Paul has made from his films before taxes.
During the trial, Paul was questioned about his earnings on such films as Oscar best picture winners Crash and Million Dollar Baby, as well as James Bond flicks Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
While explaining the complexities of screenwriting compensation, he estimated that he has made as much as $25 million before assets are divided.
