The 39-year-old Thor actor is opening up about how learning of his Alzheimer’s predisposition has changed his life.

Chris’ DNA has two copies of the gene APOE4, which makes him eight to ten times more likely to battle the progressive disease.

“My concern was I just didn’t want to manipulate it and overdramatize it, and make it into some sort of hokey grab at empathy, or whatever, for entertainment,” Chris told VF. “It’s not like I’ve been handed my resignation.”

“When you have predisposition to … anything — it’s all about sleep management, stress management, nutrition, movement fitness,” Chris continued. “It’s all kind of the same tools that need to be applied in a consistent way.”

“It is way more widely acceptable to talk about health and wellness than it was when I was growing up,” Chris said. “There’s way more science and awareness of it and there’s a greater enthusiasm for it.”

The six-episode season of Limitless with Chris Hemsworth has just debuted on Disney+. It explores the idea that you can combat aging and discover the full potential of the human body.
