When Enchanted debuted in 2007, there was actually a plan to make Giselle part of the lineup. But, then it got complicated.

In an article from Wall Street Journal from 2007, it was revealed that it all had to do with the actress who plays Giselle, Amy Adams.

“[A plan was] originally conceived as a chance to introduce a new princess, Giselle, to the lineup, according to people familiar with the matter,” the outlet reported at the time. “But Disney abandoned that plan when it realized securing the life-long rights to the image of Amy Adams, who plays Giselle, was harder than an ugly step-sister squeezing into Cinderella’s glass shoe.”

So, while Giselle is not part of the official lineup, merchandise like rare dolls of the character, are still available to purchase.
