Kris Wu Faces 13 Years In Chinese Prison After Being Sentenced for Rape & Sexual Promiscuity Charges

Singer Kris Wu was sentenced to 13 years in prison stemming from rape and sexual promiscuity charges.

The 32-year-old Chinese-Canadian artist who has released solo music and was once part of K-Pop group Exo also owes approximately $83.7 million in fines for tax issues, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kris was detained by police in 2021 as a result of the rape allegations. He was held through his trial in China.

He will serve 11 years and six months for the rape charges and an additional one year and 10 months for the “crime of assembling a crowd to engage in sexual promiscuity.” The latter charge stems from a 2018 event during which two women were reportedly assaulted.

Kris will be deported from China upon finishing his sentence.

His trial took place in June of this year and was closed to the public in an effort to protect the victims. He has previously denied the allegations and has the ability to appeal the ruling.

The artist made headlines in 2018 stemming from claims that his album sales on iTunes were “fraudulent.”
