Jeremy Clarkson Breaks Silence, Apologizes for Anti-Meghan Markle Column

Jeremy Clarkson is apologizing amid considerable backlash for his thoughts on Meghan Markle.

The 62-year-old English Top Gear broadcaster broke his silence, issuing an apology for the column he wrote about the 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex.

The column in The Sun came following the release of her Netflix docu-series with husband Prince Harry, in which he suggested she should “parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.”

On Monday (December 17), Jeremy responded to the backlash on his Twitter.

“Oh dear. I’ve rather put my foot in it. In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made a clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones and this has gone down badly with a great many people. I’m horrified to have caused so much hurt and I shall be more careful in future,” he wrote.
