James Corden Auditioned for a Role in 'Lord of the Rings' - Find Out Which One!

James Corden is just one of the many hopefuls who attempted to land a role in Lord of the Rings.

The Late Late Show host made an appearance on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast with Josh Horowitz.

During the appearance, James confirmed that he was one of “every single person in London” attempting to audition for a part in the franchise.

He confirmed that he went in to audition for the role of the hobbit Samwise Gamgee, admitting his audition was “not good,” despite him giving it his best effort.

“Every single person in London auditioned for Lord Of The Rings. Everybody. I auditioned for Samwise. I was doing the accent and everything,” he revealed.

“Two of my other friends went in [to audition] and then we all got called back the next day. Then we got called back the next day, and then none of us got called back after that.”

Still, he “very much enjoyed” the films, which began with 2001′s The Fellowship of the Ring.

Sean Astin ended up landing the role James Corden wanted.

A late night host just accused James of stealing his set design.
