Is Tom Brady Retiring or Playing for Buccaneers in 2023? 3 Teams He Could Move to in Free Agency

Tom Brady is a free agent after the completion of the 2022 NFL season, meaning, he could theoretically play for another team.

He’s currently the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and will be playing in the Wild Card matchup against the Dallas Cowbows tonight (January 16).

There’s a few options floating around that could happen for Tom after the 2022 season concludes. If his team loses the game against the Cowboys tonight, his season will be over. If his team wins, he will advance to the divisional round of the playoffs.

“He’ll be 46 years old and I would say there’s a chance that he does not return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite the fact that they very much want him back and plan to make efforts toward that,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport said on the NFL network on Sunday (January 15). “Among the teams that would consider Brady — a couple of them considered Brady last time [before he left the Patriots in 2020].”

As for which teams could court him if he decides to move elsewhere and now re-sign with the Bucs, Ian said, “The Tennessee Titans still have some quarterback questions. The 49ers if they do not decide to roll with [current quarterback] Brock Purdy, although he’s certainly stating his case. And then the Las Vegas Raiders, who have several of his old friends including Josh McDaniels.” Josh, who is the coach for the Raiders, and Tom worked together during their time at the Patriots where they won six Super Bowl titles together.

Tom could also re-sign with the Bucs, or, he could decide to retire (for real this time!) And he even has a job lined up after retirement.
