Alec Baldwin Returns to Work on 'Rust' After Criminal Charges From Tragic Shooting Were Dropped

Alec Baldwin is getting back to work on the set of Rust.

The 65-year-old actor was photographed working on the movie for the first time since 2021. Production halted following the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was shot when Alec allegedly pulled the trigger on a prop gun.

His first day back on set comes only one day after criminal charges against Alec stemming from the death were dropped.

Photos obtained by The New York Post show Alec in costume. He’s wearing a pair of knee-high brown boots with a gray shirt and pants and a black vest. The actor appears to have blood stains around the sleeves of the shirt and is sporting a full beard.

Alec was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter earlier this year. Those are the charges that were dropped.

Although the charges were dropped, it is possible that they might be re-filed. Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who worked on the movie as an armorer, is still facing charges of her own.

Alec formally requested that the lawsuit against him be dropped just a few days ago.
