Todd Fisher Refutes Billie Lourd's Claim of Profiting Off Carrie Fisher's Passing Amid Walk of Fame Invite Snub

Todd Fisher is speaking out after niece Billie Lourd‘s claims about him and his siblings turning a profit over her late mother, Carrie Fisher.

If you didn’t see, Billie confirmed rumors that she did not invite Carrie‘s brother Todd, nor Joely and Tricia Leigh Fisher, who are Carrie’s half-siblings, to the upcoming Walk of Fame ceremony.

“The truth is I did not invite them to this ceremony. They know why,” Billie shared in her statement. “Days after my mom died, her brother and her sister chose to process their grief publicly and capitalize on my mother’s death, by doing multiple interviews and selling individual books for a lot of money, with my mom and my grandmother’s deaths as the subject.”

After she released a statement about the matter, Todd issued his own, refuting her claims.

In his statement, via TheWrap, Todd said that Billie‘s claims are not true and that he, Joely, and Tricia Leigh, have reached out to her about the accusations.

“We made every attempt to speak with Billie’s team regarding the invitation prior to making any public comments,” he shared. “Keeping the focus on Carrie Fisher, let’s put our differences aside for the hour long ceremony and move on from there. I was told It was a no go and why would I want to heighten level of emotion for his niece, going further to say if I showed up, she would not.”

Todd added that he “never capitalized on either Carrie or my mother Debbie [Reynolds]’s deaths, and in no way meant to hurt Billie…and that is the truth.”

“As she has finally communicated these deep seeded [sic] feelings publicly and wants no relationship with me, my response is that I’ve finally learned where she stands after 7 years…..BUT could we not stand together for a moment, set aside our differences, and celebrate Carrie Fisher’s legacy in the way she deserves and the way she would have wanted?”

Carrie passed away in 2016 at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack. Just a day later, her mom, Debbie, died of a stroke.
