LL Cool J Joins 'NCIS: Hawai'i' for Season 3 Following Series Finale of 'NCIS: Los Angeles'

The 55-year-old entertainer starred in all 14 seasons of the hit CBS series, which concluded with a series finale on Sunday night (May 21).

LL will reprise his role as Sam Hanna in the upcoming third season. After we last saw him in the desert of Morocco during the series finale of NCIS: LA, he appeared in the spinoff series on a phone call with Vanessa Lachey‘s Jane Tennant.

Jane was under attack in Venezuela and Sam said he was “in the neighborhood” and offered to help her out. After she asked if he’s in Venezuela, Sam replied, “Morocco, actually, but hey — what’s a few borders and an ocean, anyway?”

The producers of NCIS said in a statement, “All of us at NCIS: Hawai’i have been huge fans of LL Cool J for years and couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to be adding his spectacular talent to our ohana for season three.”

Vanessa added, “One of the most beautiful things about working on NCIS: Hawai’i is the show’s ability to bring the franchise together. We have had so much fun spreading the aloha to NCIS and NCIS: LA with the triple crossover. Now, we have the amazing opportunity to bring Sam Hanna to Hawai’i to help the island solve some cases and maybe have a few laughs in the process. Welcome to the ohana, Todd! It’s going to be a fun ride!”
