Kathy Griffin Undergoes Vocal Cord Surgery Amid Lung Cancer Journey

Kathy Griffin is sharing an update on her lung cancer journey.

On Wednesday (June 7), the 62-year-old comedian took to TikTok to reveal that she is recovering after successfully undergoing surgery on her left vocal cord to restore her voice following her battle against lung cancer.

Kathy shared some behind-the-scenes footage from inside the operating room revealing that she had undergone the procedure “because I want to be in good shape for my big Vegas show on June 17.”

Following the surgery, Kathy is seen recovering in a hospital bed and says, “I’m a little scratchy today, but I’ll be in good shape.”

She then smiled for the camera and explained that the procedure is “part of my recovery post-lung cancer surgery. I’m cancer free.”

“I so appreciate you guys following along on my journey to get my voice back after #lungcancer ! Big shout out to Dr.Barbu,” Kathy captioned the TikTok.

In 2021, Kathy announced that she had stage one lung cancer and that she needed to have surgery to remove half of her left lung. A few months later, she revealed she was cancer free.

Kathy recently opened up about another diagnosis.
