Ariana DeBose Opens Tony Awards 2023 with Dance Performance & No Words Amid WGA Strike (Video)

Ariana DeBose is working without a script for the 2023 Tony Awards, so she kicked off the show with a dance number!

The 32-year-old Oscar-winning actress is hosting the show on Sunday night (June 11) at the United Palace Theatre in New York City’s Washington Heights.

Ariana opened the show by taking a look at a script that had blank pages before breaking out into a dance number that was performed all around the theater, ending on stage.

Following the performance, Ariana spoke to the audience and explained what’s happening with the writers strike and how it has affected the Tonys.
