Sam Heughan Revisits His 'Outlander' Audition Tape On 10th Anniversary of His Casting Reveal

Sam Heughan is feeling nostalgic.

Thursday (July 6) marked the 10th anniversary of the day that Outlander author Diana Gabaldon revealed he would be playing Jamie Fraser in the hit series. The anniversary was all the more meaningful since this year it was announced that Outlander was set to come to a close with its forthcoming eighth season.

Taking to Twitter, Sam recognized the special occasion and revisited his audition tape for the role!

On Twitter, Sam replied to a fan who shared “the audition tape that made Diana‘s jaw drop” and opined that the actor “was born for this role.” The tweet featured a seven-minute video about his work with Outlander, including a lengthy look at his audition.

He appeared to appreciate the trip down memory lane.

“Wow time flies,” Sam wrote. “Thankful to Diana, the fans and of course, Mr JAMMF himself.”
