Coco Gauff Gets U.S. Open Support from Justin & Hailey Bieber, Celebrates WTA's 50th Anniversary

Coco Gauff celebrates women’s tennis at the WTA 50th Anniversary Gala at The Ziegfeld Ballroom last week in New York City.

At the swanky soiree, the 19-year-old USA tennis sensation shared who her female inspirations are: “Definitely the Williams sisters. They’re my biggest inspiration when it comes to tennis and off court things as well with using your platforms and everything. Also Mrs. Michelle Obama. There’s also so many incredible women here in tennis that I also look up to.”

During her speech on stage, Coco added, “Because Billie Jean King and Venus Williams use their super powers to fight for pay equality, we are closer to a sports world that respects and rewards both men and women equally… And Serena Williams. I watched someone dominate women’s tennis in a way no one else has ever had. And more importantly, I saw someone who looked like me and helped me believe I could achieve as I follow my own unique path.

On Saturday night (September 2), Justin Bieber and wife Hailey were spotted in the stands supporting Coco at the 2023 US Open tennis tournament at NYC’s Arthur Ashe Stadium at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
