Aubrey Plaza Reveals She Lost Out on 'Deadpool 2' Role, Admits It Left Her 'Hurt'

Aubrey Plaza is looking back at role she really wanted.

In a new interview with Cosmopolitan, the 39-year-old White Lotus actress revealed she auditioned for a role in 2018′s Deadpool 2, and was devastated when she wasn’t cast.

“There’s a lot of roles that I really wanted that I didn’t get, but everything happens for a reason,” Aubrey shared, as seen in a video shared on Twitter. “I don’t know, the one that sticks out to me for some reason is Deadpool 2.”

“I’d just come off a plane and I think I was shooting Legion at the time,” Aubrey recalled. “I was really not in a good zone because auditioning — you have to be in an auditioning zone and I was in a work zone. That one hurt. Me and Ryan Reynolds, what could go wrong? We’d be so great together, but [I] blew it.”

Aubrey didn’t reveal which role she auditioned for, but she appeared to allude to the character of Domino, who Zazie Beetz ended up playing.
