Cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto told Variety that we were deprived of a tribute to Jaws that would have happened when Ken ran into the ocean and was thrown back out. It was going to give Michael Cera’s Allan time to respond.

“We did this shot on Allan that emulated Jaws,” he recalled. “He’s terrified [when] Ken hits a wave and then flies in the air. There’s a moment where the police officer sees someone being eaten in the water.”

The moment was described as “very dramatic,” with Michael‘s performance being praised. It was also laugh out loud funny, especially for Greta. She “could not stop laughing when we shot it” and “kept asking the video assistant to replay it for her just to laugh,” Rodrigo shared.
