Jacob Elordi on Why He Turned Down Reading for Superman, Why He Didn't Want to Make 'Kissing Booth' Films, Playing Elvis Right Austin Butler & More

On why he didn’t want to make the Kissing Booth movies and why he actually did…

He said he took the jobs because…he needed a job.

“I didn’t want to make those movies before I made those movies. Those movies are ridiculous. They’re not universal. They’re an escape,” he shared.

The writer pointed out that perhaps those movies were part of the “one for them, one for me” thought process that goes around Hollywood (meaning, he makes some big budget films in order to pursue other, more personal passion projects.)

“That one’s a trap as well. Because it can become 15 for them, none for you. You have no original ideas and you’re dead inside. So it’s a fine dance. My ‘one for them,’ I’ve done it,” Jacob said, inferring that the Kissing Booth movies were his one for them.
