Leonard Nimoy Dead - Star Trek's Spock Actor Dies at 83
Leonard Nimoy has died at the age of 83 after a battle with end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The actor passed away on Friday morning (February 27) at his home in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles. His wife Susan Bay Nimoy confirmed the sad news to The New York Times.
Leonard announced that he was suffering from the disease last year and said it was due to years of smoking, even though he had given up the habit three decades ago.
He was best known for his work as Spock in the television series Star Trek in the mid 1960s, for which he received three Emmy Award nominations.
We send out our thoughts and condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time.
