Carrie Underwood Donates Instruments To Checotah High School
Carrie Underwood speaks at Checotah High School to surprise students with more than $117,000 in new music instruments, on Friday (August 28) in Checotah, Oklahoma.
The donated pieces were a a joint gift from 26-year-old’s C.A.T.S. Foundation (Checotah Animal, Town and Schools) and ACM Lifting Lives (Academy of Country Music).
“I am so proud to have come from such a wonderful community that helped shape me as a person,” said Carrie. “And I can think of nothing better than to share the gift of music with the students in my hometown. It’s so great to be able to give back in a way that can truly better the lives of these kids and help create dreams and opportunities.”
During the presentation, Carrie sang an impromptu duet of her song “So Small” with fifth-grader Kenedee Rittenhouse, 11.
