Matthew McConaughey and his former co-star Kate Hudson meet up on the red carpet at the 2016 Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 6) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Moonlight is one of the most buzzworthy movies of awards season and its two leading ladies, Naomie Harris and Janelle Monae, were honored at the 2016 Hollywood Film Awards.

The actresses looked beautiful while walking the red carpet at the event, held on Sunday night (November 6) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Naomie was presented with the Hollywood Breakout Actress Award and Janelle was presented with the Spotlight Award, which was also for her work in the upcoming film Hidden Figures.

Moonlight co-star Mahershala Ali, who is getting a ton of Oscar buzz for his performance, was in attendance as well.

Los Angeles Times journalist Amy Kaufman tweeted some of James‘ jokes from the opening, including, “”The Hollywood Film Award sounds like something Michael Bay gives to himself on Xmas morning to feel less alone,” and “What is this food? F–king prawns and finger sandwiches? Stay classy, HFAs. HFAs sounds like a urinary tract infection.”
