The first teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin has arrived!

The quick look at the Guy Ritchie-directed movie shows off the sprawling scenery of Agrabah and the cave where Aladdin obtains the magic lamp.

The last shot of the trailer shows newcomer Mena Massoud as Aladdin!

Will Smith will be playing the Genie and Naomi Scott is taking on the role of Princess Jasmine. The movie will hit theaters on May 24, 2019 and it will featured two new songs written by composer Alan Menken.

Disney’s live-action movie Aladdin has just finished filming!

The Guy Ritchie-directed re-imagining of the classic ’90s animated film officially wrapped as of Wednesday (January 24), according to Mena Massoud, who will be playing the titular role.

“That’s a wrap on Aladdin! It’s been an incredible journey and I can’t wait for you all to see it next year. Thank you to the cast & crew for your endless hard work and your passion. #Aladdin #2019″ he wrote on his Instagram.

The movie is expected to hit theaters on May 24, 2019. Meet the cast if you haven’t already!

Disney’s Aladdin has made its way to Los Angeles and the show’s original Broadway star Adam Jacobs is leading the cast on the west coast!

The musical opened on Thursday (January 11) and Adam will be joined by his original Jasmine co-star, Courtney Reed, starting on January 13.

Isabelle McCalla, who has been playing Jasmine on the national tour and appeared in the show on opening night in L.A., will be traveling to Broadway for a limited engagement from January 17 – February 18. She will then return to the tour after Courtney departs.

The show is a perfect opportunity for millenials to relive their childhoods during a fun night at the theatre. Just wait until you see what the Genie (Michael James Scott) has in store throughout the musical!

Aladdin is playing at the Pantages Theatre through March 31.

The 25th anniversary of the animated film Aladdin is TODAY (November 25) and the upcoming live-action remake’s star Mena Massoud is celebrating the occasion!

The 26-year-old actor took to his Instagram account to share a photo of himself holding a Blu-ray copy of the Disney film along with a sweet message.

“Happy 25th Anniversary boo! Crazy to think that when I was a one year-old this story of #Aladdin came to life,” Mena wrote.

“And now, 25 years later, I have the honor & privilege to help re-tell this magical #Disney story once again. Get cozy & give it a watch tonight peeps!” he added.

Aladdin, starring Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Will Smith as the Genie, will hit theaters on May 24, 2019.

The 48-year-old actor and the rest of the cast – Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and Marwan Kenzari – all stopped to pose for a pic in honor of production kicking off!

“We just started shooting Aladdin and I wanted to intro you guys to our new family…Mena Massoud/Aladdin, Naomi Scott/Princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari/Jafar, and I’m over here gettin my Genie on. Here we go!” Will wrote on his Facebook page.

Later, Mena shared the same photo, writing, “Agrabah just got a lot hotter. Ooof! Gonna be keeping you posted on everything Aladdin peeps ;)”

It looks like the cast has totally hit it off! We can’t wait to see the film come together!

The cast of Disney’s live-action movie Aladdin has been officially announced!

Disney’s official press release described the beloved characters from the animated 90s film, which will be re-imagined in Guy Ritchie‘s upcoming film. Alan Menken will be providing the score for the movie, which will feature your favorite songs from the movie, as well as two new songs. Billy Magnussen has joined the cast of the upcoming Disney live-action remake of the musical movie Aladdin!

The 32-year-old Tony-nominated actor will be playing the role of Prince Anders, a new role written for the remake, according to THR.

This won’t be the first time Billy is playing a prince in a Disney movie. He previously played Rapunzel’s prince in the Disney movie Into the Woods.

Most recently, Billy had a memorable role in the indie flick Ingrid Goes West and he was also seen in Oscar bait The Big Short and Bridge of Spies.
