The family of Avicii has released a statement on their plans to lay the DJ to rest.

“There have been many inquiries regarding the funeral arrangements for Tim Bergling, known by music fans as Avicii. The Bergling family has now confirmed that the funeral will be private, in the presence of the people who were closest to Tim. They kindly ask media to respect this. There is no additional information forthcoming,” the family said in a statement (via Variety).

Avicii was found dead at the young age of 28 last month, and his cause of death was apparently confirmed by TMZ.

The family of Avicii (aka Tim Bergling) have released a second, heartbreaking statement just three days after their initial statement on his tragic death at the age of 28.

The family said in a statement on Thursday (April 26), via Variety, “Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress. When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music. He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight. Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive.
We love you,
Your family”

Variety has speculated that there could be numerous meanings to this second statement. A cause of death has not been released.

We are grateful for the privacy during this difficult time. Our wish is that it continues that way,” they continued, before signing the note, “With love, The Tim Bergling Family.”

No cause of death has been released at this time.

Rita Ora is reacting to the sad news of Avicii‘s death.

The 27-year-old superstar, who just recently worked with the late producer and DJ on their track “Lonely Together,” shared her thoughts on social media on Saturday (April 20).

“I have no words. I remember how amazing it was to make Lonely Together and it felt like just yesterday we were talking. Condolences to Avicii‘s family, friends, and the fans who supported him. May he rest in peace. Gone too soon. I’m devastated. Heartbroken,” she wrote on Twitter.

Avicii was sadly found dead on Friday (April 20) at the age of 28.

Sweden’s Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden are mourning the death of of DJ Avicii (aka Tim Bergling) after his tragic death this week.

If you don’t know, the superstar performed at their wedding back in 2015.

“It is with great sadness that we received the news that Tim Bergling has died. We are grateful that we got to know him and admired him as an artist and the nice person he was,” the royal couple said in a statement. “He made our wedding unforgettable with his amazing music. Our warmest thoughts go out to his family.”
