Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and some of the other members of the Batman v Superman cast are responding to the negative reviews the film has received from some outlets.

“What is going to really matter, I believe, is what the audience says,” Henry told Yahoo Movies UK. “Because they’re the ones who are buying tickets, they’re the ones who want to see more of this kind of story, or not. So the audience’s voice is loudest, and after this weekend, the audience will at least partly have spoken.”

Ben agreed with Henry‘s sentiments.

“I don’t even watch the movies I’m in, I get very critical,” Lex Luthor actor Jesse Eisenberg said. “So I don’t like reading stuff either. It’s distracting.”

The review embargo for the highly anticipated movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been lifted and the first reactions from critics have been revealed!

The reviews seem to be mixed, with some critics pointing out strong performances, especially from Wonder Woman newcomer Gal Gadot. Read some review excerpts below:

The Wrap: “The movie’s only female non-pawn or hostage, Gal Gadot‘s Amazon warrior saves this sludgy epic from superhero sameness.”

Entertainment Weekly gives the film a C+: “Dawn of Justice starts off as an intriguing meditation about two superheroes turning to an all-too-human emotion: hatred out of fear of the unknown. Two and a half hours later it winds up somewhere very far from that�”but at the same time, all too familiar. It’s another numbing smash-and-bash orgy of CGI mayhem with an ending that leaves the door open wide enough to justify the next 10 installments. Is it too late to demand a rematch?”

Forbes: “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is one of the most visually beautiful comic book movies you have ever seen. The picture is filled with moments of visual poetry and pure cinema in a way that resembles one glorious splash page after another.”

Uproxx: “I came for the escapism. I looked forward to the escapism. I wanted to embrace the escapism. But sometimes even Superman will let you down.”

Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill walk the red carpet at the premiere of their new movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on Tuesday (March 22) at Odeon Leicester Square in London, England.

The guys were joined at the event by their co-star Jesse Eisenberg, as well as Jason Momoa, who will join them in the upcoming Justice League movie as Aquaman.

It was just announced that Ben‘s next movie Live by Night, which he also wrote and directed, will be released on October 20, 2017.

FYI: Ben is wearing a custom Gucci suit, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Montblanc cufflinks.

The London premiere of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will go on this evening (March 22), despite the tragic terror attacks that took place in Brussels earlier.

“Our hearts go out to the victims of recent terrorist attacks, their families and the communities impacted around the world. Rather than yield to terror, we’ve decided to join the film’s fans and move forward with the London premiere of Batman v. Superman this evening,” Warner Bros. said in a statement (via THR).

The red carpet for the event has been cancelled for safety reasons.

Batman v Superman is set to hit theaters this Friday, and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, and Jesse Eisenberg.

Visual editor Todd Spence cut a special version of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer to put Ben Affleck against Ben Affleck!

Todd took scenes from Ben‘s 2006 film Hollywoodland to create Affleck v Affleck, the brand new trailer for the upcoming blockbuster film! Using some special effects, Henry Cavill no longer appears in the trailer as Batman’s nemesis.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to hit theaters this week on March 25. Be sure to check it out!

Gal Gadot is pretty in pastel as she arrives at the premiere of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice on Sunday (March 20) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The 30-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-star Jesse Eisenberg, 32.

Also attending the premiere were the film’s stars Lauren Cohan, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, Tao Okamoto and Diane Lane.

Gal had joined Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill for the movie’s Mexico City premiere the night before.
